The Cattle Field & Human Barn

The gentle breezes stir the green grasses that grow in this field, crudely fenced with wire and wooden posts, a few of which are beginning to rot. It is here the humans turn their livestock out to graze. Fat and healthy cattle roam over the pasture...white wooly sheep graze the grasses...tempting targets for any predator. But beware, for on the outskirts of the fields are the human barns in which the livestock spend their nights, and the dilapidated buildings house man's dangerous traps and weapons. A hungry wolf or cat may attack the domestic stock, only to find himself or herself at the business end of a rifle when a farmer emerges from the barns, roused by the barking of the herding and guard dogs.

NEW: Farmers and the livestock/crops they raise can be found listed at the bottom of the board. If you want your human char added to this list, just make a post saying so.

In order to give the cattle dogs and farmers a chance to protect their livestock, if you attempt to kill a domesticated animal here, you must allow one real-time hour for any kind of response before you can complete the kill and take the carcass away. (In other words, you can no longer do posts where *Wolf attacks and kills cow. Wolf carries off kill*, but rather, you must make the attempt to kill in one post...*Panther leaps on cow, latching jaws around the cattle's jugular.*...and then allow at least one real-time hour to pass before posting whether your attempt was successful or not and your character's possibly victorious retreat with its kill such as *Cow dies and panther drags it off*) Of course, you stand a better chance of making a successful kill and evading or standing up to the cattle dogs if you hunt in groups or packs, and it is likely the only way you will bring down an adult cow. (However, please do not simply use 20 of your own characters, as that is unfair. Make things interesting and get other members of your pack/gang or just friends to help.)
