"So," exclaimed the Inspector, "what do we have?"
The man in the white coat shook his head. Clearly distressed, he rummaged his pockets and produced a pair glasses. Carefully, he scanned the sheaf of paper that he held.
"...no bloody sense of morals...terrible, horrible.. what kind of monsters would.."
"Doc, you're new at this, aren't ya?"
"..absolutely sicken-uh? Oh. Sorry, sorry.. I didn't expect to see something like this when they woke me up at two in the morning." The man in white coat muttered away.
The Inspector sighed. With all the furore regarding recent attacks, he never expected to meet someone who hasn't an inkling of what's been happening.
"How is the man?" If he's still one, the Inspector thought silently.
"The singer?" The doctor looked up. "Positively shattered. He's in a state of self-enforced delirium... gets nightmares when he sleeps, and doesn't even want to wake up to face reality. The only reaction we got out of him was when the nurse tried to feed him some food. Screamed the hospital half to death and nearly choked her too. As if being scalded by hot soup isn't enough for the poor girl."
"That's quite an extreme reaction," the Inspector offered.
"Very," said the doctor. "Waste of good onion soup too."
Bingo, goes the Inspector in his mind.
"Doctor, I would suggest that you would strap him down should you ever need to give him an injection. Our rocker friend would definitely have developed a phobia for needles as well"
The doctor thought quietly over this one.
"And one more thing, Doctor" added the Inspector. "Never, ever, EVER show him a measuring tape."
The doctor threw a look of confusion. "MEASURING TAPE?! I don't quite follow, Inspector... wait, measuring tape..." the doctor scanned the notes intensely.
A few moments later, he spoke "...you know, that would explained what we found on his body. Never seen anything like this before, but..yes, they're definitely from a measuring tape."
"Doc," said the Inspector "we've got a long night ahead of us."
